Grand Joseph Paolino

Joseph Paolino — grandfather to Joe, Sr. — came to Providence from Italy when he was eight years old. He started out as a life insurance salesman, but became interested in real estate when he received his first commission from selling a house. He then began to buy and rent three-decker apartment buildings, personally collecting the rent from his tenants every Saturday.
